We need your help! The Arnaud Guesry Foundation runs various projects throughout the DIANA region of Madagascar. We run five main activity streams:

1. Fostering and Protection: This includes our residential crisis center, a foster care system and a graduate education scheme

2. Education and Lifelong Learning: This includes our school sponsorship program, summer school and in-house community education courses

3. Medical Program: Made up of a specialist malnutrition program, a pediatric surgery rota and a community clinic

4. Sustainability and Renewable Energy: Including boreholes and solar panels, a poultry initiative and small farming

5. Community Support: Work in local prisons, advocacy for women and girls, education on rights of the child and small business support projects

It costs approximately 100,000 Euros to run our core programs for one year. 100% of your donations go to Madagascar, with all international services being coordinated on a voluntary basis. Every donation makes a significant impact to the children and families we support.

There are many exciting We welcome volunteers from all over the world as they bring their own knowledge and skills with them. There are many exciting opportunities here at La Maison d’Arnaud for Malagasy, French or English speaking volunteers. All of our programs are personalised to suit your interests and goals. We will work with you to design a volunteer schedule to fulfil your objectives.

All our volunteers must be over 18 years of age and willing to commit to at least 8 weeks at La Maison d’Arnaud to benefit individual learning and reduce instability with the children.

We offer both permanent and non-permanent volunteer placement positions.

• Permanent placement — includes accommodation and one meal per day in return for a minimum of 25 working hours per week
• Non-permanent placement — suitable for long term visitors and Malagasy residents who wish to come in a few hours per week to run activity programs with the children.

Sponsoring a child at La Maison d’Arnaud means that although your financial donations go to the general support of all our children, you get the opportunity to foster a one-on-one relationship with one of our children. You can expect regular communication and updates on your sponsor-child and we also encourage you to write in return. This not only gives the children an opportunity to utilise their academic skills of reading and writing in French or English, it also allows them to broaden their minds in communicating with someone in a different culture and community to their own. The sponsorship program gives us the opportunity to create an extended family for our kids even though they may not have one of their own.

The older children know about their sponsors and communicate themselves as much as they can, while our sponsorship team shares updates for the babies. The team gives news on development, health, special milestones or events and generally keeping sponsor parents up to date on what’s happening with their sponsor-child.

Sponsorship has a recommended donation of €25 per month (€300 per year) and can be paid monthly or as a lump sum annually. If you would like more information on our sponsorship program, please feel free to send us a message via our contacts page or email us at We will answer any questions you may have or happily send you the sponsorship handbook and application form.
