In 2013 the foundation launched its first project, La Maison d’Arnaud. With our residential home built in Antanamitarana, La Maison d’Arnaud provides long-term housing, health services, specialist mental health care, education and a loving home for up to 50 children.
VOLUNTEERING
We welcome volunteers from all over the world as they bring their own knowledge and skills with them. There are many exciting opportunities here at La Maison d’Arnaud for Malagasy, French or English speaking volunteers. All of our programs are personalised to suit your interests and goals. We will work with you to design a volunteer schedule to fulfil your objectives.
All our volunteers must be over 18 years of age and willing to commit to at least 8 weeks at La Maison d’Arnaud to benefit individual learning and reduce instability with the children.
We offer both permanent and non-permanent volunteer placement positions.
• Permanent placement — includes accommodation and one meal per day in return for a minimum of 25 working hours per week
• Non-permanent placement — suitable for long term visitors and Malagasy residents who wish to come in a few hours per week to run activity programs with the children.

DONATIONS
Due to the rising cost of living we still face challenges where cost is concerned. Our home must continue to raise 50,000 Euros per year to keep it alive and we greatly appreciate any donations.
If you are living in the local community or are planning to visit Diego, we welcome donations of second hand children’s clothes, toys, books and computers. We are also grateful for any monetary donation we are fortunate enough to receive it.
The ethos of our Foundation has always been to keep administration and overhead costs at a minimum, to ensure we spend more on the children in our care. In this way we can guarantee your money will be put to good use. We are also an actively transparent organisation and should you have any special requests as to where your donation should be used, or to know more about the specific areas which donations fund then please get in touch via our contacts page.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP
Sponsoring a child at La Maison d’Arnaud means that although your financial donations go to the general support of all our children, you get the opportunity to foster a one-on-one relationship with one of our children. You can expect regular communication and updates on your sponsor-child and we also encourage you to write in return. This not only gives the children an opportunity to utilise their academic skills of reading and writing in French or English, it also allows them to broaden their minds in communicating with someone in a different culture and community to their own. The sponsorship program gives us the opportunity to create an extended family for our kids even though they may not have one of their own.
The older children know about their sponsors and communicate themselves as much as they can, while our sponsorship team shares updates for the babies. The team gives news on development, health, special milestones or events and generally keeping sponsor parents up to date on what’s happening with their sponsor-child.
Sponsorship has a recommended donation of €25 per month (€300 per year) and can be paid monthly or as a lump sum annually.
